DemonstrationBefore you start the install, you need to ensure that you have one static IP Address on the server configured. This static IP address can be an IPv4 or IPv6 address or both.
To install DNS, open server manager from quick launch or start menu. From server manager, select roles and then select add roles from the right hand side.
From the add role wizard, click through until you get to the role selection screen. From this screen, select the role DNS Server. Once selected, it is matter of pressing the next and the install buttons until the wizard in complete. The install is quite fast and should only take a minute or so to complete.
Once the install is complete, you can administer the DNS server by going to the start menu, and selecting DNS from administrative tools. The current server will be selected by default. If you want to administer another server, you can right click DNS at the top and then select the option Connect to DNS server.
